BUTCHER’S STEW

Ingredients:

  • 200 g pork, diced
  • 200 g beef, diced
  • 50 g smoked bacon, diced
  • 100 g smoked sausages, diced
  • 500 g peeled potatoes, sliced
  • 60 ml oil
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 50 ml white wine
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • salt
  • ground pepper
  • thyme

Directions:

Sprinkle meat with salt, then stir-fr) in hot oil with a little water. Add onion, garlic, smoked bacon and sausages; let them fry a little together, under constant stirring.
When onion gets almost golden, ad: tomato paste, salt, pepper and thyme. Add warm water to cover ingredients, cover the pot and leave on medium heat for about one hour
Meanwhile boil potatoes in salted hot water. When the stew is ready, add wine, stir and remove from stove. Served with hot potatoes, sprinkled with parsley.
Tip: delicious also with maize mash and broiled bell pepper salad as side dish. Serve with a glass of Palinca or Horinca.
